Presented by Olympic Auto Sales,Atlantas premier Luxury Buy Here Pay Here Dealership. The Honda Civic has a long history to draw from in the U.S.—its the fifth decade of sales for the car—and its 2016 version couldnt be more important for the company. This years Civic, which has already been followed by a coupe version, is the 10th generation of the venerable small car, and a huge improvement over the last generations car in nearly every way. There is good news for people who fondly remember the first CVCC Hondas. But more to the point, the new Civic will send some fear into its rivals. Honda had let down its compact-car guard in the past few years with the Civic: it cheapened its interior and dulled its luster while vehicles like the Mazda 3, Ford Focus, and Hyundai Elantra grew more appealing. The base Civic gets its power from a new 2.0-liter inline-4 rated at 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet of torque. Available in LX or EX trim, it delivers its power to the front wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission or an available continuously variable transmission (CVT), which has been carried over from the last-generation Civic. Though its a brand-new engine design, it feels familiar. Power output is similar to that delivered by a base Mazda 3 or Hyundai Elantra—its more than adequate for commuter use, and its delivered in an unobtrusive and unexciting way.The Civic has grown up in all sorts of ways with its 2016 reinvention, but its also grown out of its old duds. By some measures, its no longer a compact car, but a mid-sizer along with the likes of the VW Jetta, Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200—though its also still a close rival for cars like the Ford Focus and Mazda 3.This vehicle is Certified Pre-Owned and is eligible for our third party warranty program.
